About OESI

OESI (Ohio Environmental Services Industry) is Ohio's trade association representing commercial hazardous waste management facilities and their service providers. We serve as the voice of an industry that plays a critical role in protecting Ohio's environment and public health.

Our Active Members

Each year, OESI's Active Members process over 600,000 tons — 1.2 billion pounds — of hazardous waste generated by businesses, industries, and institutions across Ohio and beyond. That represents 70% of all hazardous waste handled commercially in the state.

Active Member operations are regulated under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) through permits issued by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (Ohio EPA), and these permitted facilities form OESI's active governing body.

Our Associate Members

OESI's Associate Members support the industry through services including transportation, drum cleaning, testing, communications, and training — helping ensure Ohio's hazardous waste management sector runs safely and efficiently.

Our Commitment

OESI members prioritize chemical recovery, reuse, and recycling wherever possible, and advocate for sound, responsible methods of treating and disposing of hazardous waste across the state.
